Looking for Additional Thoughts? Okay, Consider the Following:

Every day there are millions of individual social, economic and political interactions in our society. Some interactions are small and some are large; and each one creates a wave or ripple in our society. The result of all of these interactions is an aggregate societal vector which moves our social, economic and political society forward. The genius of a republic is that, over time, a collective consensus emerges that provides a just direction for the society.

We can evaluate the results of millions of Democratic policy trials and Republican policy trials. We can consider the results of millions of independent trials. Let’s select the most successful of these community policy experiments and apply those factors that generally lead to meaning and dignity for most individuals.

Social and political issues must be viewed as the subject of rhetorical debates and choice, as well as scientific problems. We humans make personal, community and common law choices based upon a combination of our observed and recorded experiments, data, experience, the ideal and the theoretical. Our “combination common sense” (individual and societal) will provide useful insights into political issues and answers, beyond that which can be derived through “limited common sense” – mere application of intuition and personal experience alone. Political “common sense” platitudes and bromides, without citing evidence and the ideal, are not reflective of the common or of the sensical.

Moderate individuals have always determined the outcome in a political contest between Left and Right. But their only policy choices have been to select between the policy options proposed by the socialists or the policy options proposed by the conservatives. AIMI wants moderates to be in the arena and in the contest – offering their own creative political policies for the consideration of our citizens; no longer content to serve merely as the judges of the policy contests between two polarized factions.

Moderates shall be able to interpret and evaluate political questions through the lens of their own cultural values, rather than have them choose between the interpretations of choice and politics offered through the limiting lenses of the polemic political factions.

“Men will lie on their backs, talking about the fall of man, and never make an effort to get up.” H.D. Thoreau

All lives matter. The People want to apply the awesome power of the state to encourage individuals to apply their lives and faculties, not take their lives and faculties. We want the state to build community not tear down community. The awesome power of the state shall be used to support the faculties and character of the individual, not repress the faculties and character of the individual – no matter their cultural identity.

You love the flag of the United States. You love the republic “for which it stands.” You have a deep appreciation for those who built our republics and those who serve our republics, past and present. You give thought to the U.S. Constitution and the republics created by our state Constitutions. You love the liberty provided by the deliberative choice enshrined in our republics…as do so many like-minded people. Tyranny cannot stand when opposed by a deliberative republic.

You have a deep sense of emotion regarding what our founders, and every generation since, fought to give us as the means to secure the blessings of liberty for ourselves and our posterity. You have given thought to their words and their intent. You understand the balance sought between the individual and their state. You understand the balance sought between government support and government intrusion.

If you appreciate an holistic political philosophy, based upon balanced character-based choices, you’ve arrived at a good place. We are defining and offering a balanced and creative middle path in a political world that is often polarized by extreme factions. Do you want to influence the society around you rather than merely be influenced by the society? Do you want to have an impact on the events which affect your life? Political decisions are imposed upon many of us, as so many of us stand on the sidelines of the debate – merely watching.

It is our intent to build, and we look forward to, an active ethical political consumerism.

Besides our personal character and faculties, these are some of the institutions we, over time and as a culture, have developed to effect our safety and happiness:

It is very difficult for one individual to make a difference or effect change. We humans tend to feel powerless in the face of institutionalized status quo societal forces, because we want to fit in with the group. So, we become conformists, despite our consciousness and natural right to make choices. We become conformists, despite our interest in being individuals. Yet, through it all, we also know it takes organizations of like-minded people to be effective and change the world.

Our company wants to increase your ability to influence what the heck is going on. And, when you join this group – a group that feels the way you feel and reasons the way you reason – then every person in the group helps the others (and themselves) make a difference. In a twist of irony, you have to join others and become a conformist in order to change the world. (Yet another ambiguity of life.)

We humans tend to view all our choices as polemic – white or black, zero sum, zero or one, win or lose. In fact, most of our political choices involve more or less, and mixtures of various tastes and hues. And, over time, those hues may change as our conditions change. Finding a creative balance for individuals in our society involves choices of heart, mind and wisdom…but it always involves choices.

Many moderates find themselves in a “no man’s land” between two rival factional cultures. Democrats are too communal and tolerant of everything and Republicans are too conservative and intolerant in their support of individualism and personal responsibility.

An Independent Moderate Individual (AIMI) seeks an effective middle path between the massively successful private realm and the necessity of the public sector to somewhat soften the harshest forces of a free market-based social and economic system. AIMI will build a balanced societal culture around the wise, active, moderate citizen. AIMI will help you with the complexity of politics in our age.
