U.S. Corporations Are Holding About $2,100 Billion In Profits Overseas. They Do Not Want To Return These Profits To The U.S. Because They Will Have To Pay U.S. Taxes On These Profits.

Posted on February 24, 2016 John Abood

Moderates believe these profits should be returned to the U.S. and taxes paid. U.S. citizens built these brands and protect these brands. The U.S. government promotes and protects these U.S. corporations and their U.S. citizen employees around the world. These U.S. corporate profits should help pay for the protections provided by the people of the United States.

When calculating their U.S. taxes, U.S. corporations are permitted to deduct foreign taxes they have already paid. We may discuss the appropriate level of U.S. taxation, but taxes are due for the many benefits provided to these U.S. corporations by the people of the United States. (Just our 48 cents.)
