The U.S. Government Owes Accumulated Debt Totaling 20 Thousand Billion Dollars

Posted on February 28, 2016 John Abood

Over many decades, our U.S. Congress and our Chief Executives spent $20,000 billion dollars more than they collected in revenues. At this time your U.S. Congress has no plan to pay this money to those who own this debt (our creditors). Every year we spend about $300 billion to pay interest on our U.S. debt. We accumulated much of this debt over about 50 years. If we begin to pay our debt at the rate of $400 billion dollars per year, it will take us about 50 years to pay our U.S. debts. Currently, in order to pay off our U.S. national debt in 50 years, each household in the U.S will have to pay an additional approx. $3,200 in taxes each year for 50 years to settle our debts. (AIMI prepared a letter for you to send to your elected representative, asking them to address this matter.)
