The level of income equality in the U.S. (after taxes and transfers are counted) compares very favorably to the average for all OECD countries. The U.S. is well within the GINI Index range of countries considered to be “just” regarding income equality.


In a diverse country, where individual character, merit and ambition are considered the means to income success, the GINI Index achieved by our U.S. society is a reflection of the education and broad opportunities available to individuals in our society.
