The Republican and Democratic Establishment Parties thought their dynastic elite candidates (Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Bush) would be fighting for the Presidency this fall. The citizens of the United States may disregard one or both of the Establishment choices. Citizens are not happy with the direction of the country, so they may look to outside candidates to shake things up in Washington, D.C. and in Congress. As the primary season and general election continue you may expect the Democrat Establishment will fall in line with their dynastic choice – Mr. Joe Biden. Many still prefer the socialism of Mr. Sanders.
It is not so clear with Republican voters. The Republican nomination process is controlled less by the Republican Establishment, and more by the Republican faithful. There is more freedom for the Republican Party citizens to go in a different direction from the Republican Establishment. As a result, Mr. Trump has again won the Republican voter’s heart. The Republican Establishment will have to adjust to their faithful supporters.
