The Extreme Political Parties In The U.S. Are Offering Our Citizens A Choice Between More State Central Control And Less State Central Control

Posted on February 29, 2016 John Abood

The major political factions in the U.S. (left and right) are reaching out to citizens to explain their policies of less government control over your life (Republicans) or more government control over your life (Democrats). Neither party organization is offering our moderate citizens the creative political leadership we seek.

The Democrats offer central planning, higher taxes and more regulation of the private realm. Their proponents depend upon the state to help individuals. They have policies that offer their proponents fairness and equality instead of majority rule, the rule of law, a free market economy and meritocracy. Democrats do not tend to apply these latter ideas. They prefer to apply the power of the state to effect equal outcomes among cultural groups.

The Republicans offer policies of less central planning, lower taxes and less regulation of the private realm. Their proponents use the private realm and institutions to achieve their goals. They offer principles and policies that may be applied to everyone. They have policies that offer their proponents fairness and equality by application of majority rule, the rule of law, a free market economy and meritocracy. Republicans apply these ideas to all cultural groups.

The Democrats believe in more government involvement in our lives, while Republicans believe in less government involvement in our lives. Moderates want all of the Democratic and Republican candidates to be more balanced and creative in their policies.

Moderates and independents will be looking for political representatives who are able to articulate a creative and balanced middle path – greater individual freedom and more local planning – within our political spectrum.
